a little more

today was the first day jeremy has had off in a while. he was working 12 hour shifts every day for the last 3 weeks. boy does he deserve a break! he is studying for a test he has to take (his 7 level CDC's for all you Air force people who actually knows what that means) for his promotion and has to get it done before November 8th which is when he goes to school (ALS) until December 15th and if he doesnt get it done, he cannot take leave until he does. Which means we cant go home for Christmas. Which means there is a girl (me) having a very hard time accepting this and being okay with missing Christmas with my family 2 years in a row. this might be impossible. so he is studying his little heart out trying to get both volumes done before November 8th so we can BOTH see our families for the holidays. I am helping him study and i know that if we miss Christmas with our families, it wont be the end of the world. and at least we will get to spend it together. but ive been just a little bit homesick lately and id really like to go home for the holidays. but anyway, going back to my point from before i started rambling, he had today off and we went on a little adventure. we got pumpkins! and came home and painted them! we plan on carving them in a couple weeks so they will be fresh for halloween, (but they turned out really cute so i might not be able to carve them). then we went to goodwill and got a cheap flannel shirt for our scarecrow/scary-man on our front porch and got him all put together!

practically best friends

the front of bandy's pumpkin

the back of bandy's pumpkin (he loves the monster mash song)

then he and ruca took a break and danced together. so precious.

my almost completed pumpkin

its done!

outside with all the lights on! i couldnt remember if i already put a pic like this up or not so im doing it just in case.

we are getting more and more excited for halloween! I hope the weather starts cooling down again. the high today was 92 and even though thats way better than 102, its still much too hot for OCTOBER in my opinion. i just saw pictures of snow from some friends in Utah. i cant even imagine. ive been living in summer for the last 7 months. im pretty sure winter might not even exist here. ill keep you updated if anything changes.

  1. Sorry to hear about not being able to go home for Christmas. I don't know if I am going to be able to go home either. It's hard. :( But anyway....those pumpkins look great! You did an awesome job and your outside looks awesome! Way to go and thanks for sharing!

  2. Fun Halloween decorations! I hope and your husband are doing well. I'm sorry about the whole holiday situation, I hope everything works out. You are very brave for moving so far away from family, I know it must be very difficult!
